A chart of emigration in 1858 by Charles Minard, 1862
Unfortunately this chart is not as clear as his famous Russian Campaign map, because the direction of emigration is not immediately clear, unless one already knows the general direction at this time was away from Europe and Africa , and toward the Americas & Australia.
