I saw Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon in glorious flickering 35mm today (still running at Cinema 21 in Portland). Every scene of this beautiful movie could be a painting by an old master. One in particular reminded me of The Death of Chatterton by Henry Wallis.
This bird has actually said “hello” to me, in English.

The bridge was designed by David Steinman, who later designed the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It opened for traffic in 1931.
